Catholic Retreats Launch Healing

From its early formation, the Brothers of St. Dismas and Sisters of St. Mary Magdalene have been received in the hearts and minds of its Catholic incarcerated men and women.  So a new program was formed and instituted for the purposes of introducing new interested Catholics into the Project through "Healing Retreats".   

In November 2003, Pennsylvania Catholic prison ministry volunteers contacted The Dismas-Magdalene Project and established a cross-sharing of information between both states.  For over ten years, Bud Cope and his pastoral ministry, had been offering healing retreats and invited Deacon Bob Leicht to attend.  Convinced that initial healing retreats were an effective means of introducing The Dismas-Magdalene Project to interested incarcerated men and women, Deacon Bob began to pray that the Lord would send someone to assist the Project, and lead these new retreats in Texas.  

Miraculously Dennis and Patti Hayes answered the Lord's call and contacted The Dismas-Magdalene Project, and a new healing chapter began.  Through their efforts and professional experience of organizing and managing W.A.T.C.H. Retreats in Texas, the team worked diligently and began creating an incredible pastoral volunteer team who wanted to touch the lives of our Catholic incarcerated men and women, offering their valuable knowledge, Catholic catechism, professional experience and valuable time to meet this crucial need inside the Texas prison system.

The Catholic incarcerated Brothers and Sisters have received hope, healing and spiritual conversions through the St. Maximillian Kolbe Retreat Team efforts.  The time and dedication this Texas Metanoia Healing Retreats has brought to incarcerated men and women in Texas, has left a wake of healing, conversion and the desire for the incarcerated to surrender their lives to God forever.  The entire team works hard and tirelessly teaching the men and women about Jesus' love and mercy and forgiveness of sins, permanently changing the lives of those attending these retreats. 

Texas Metanoia Retreat Staff

The Texas Metanoia Retreat staff meets monthly at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church (pictured below), of the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese, Houston, Texas; to collaborate their unique professional and spiritual experiences. These incredible individuals are the finest from around Texas and have given their time and love to bring Jesus Christ into various prison facilities within Texas.  More healing retreats are scheduled in 2007 and ff you  would like to become a volunteer and participate as a Healing Retreat member, please email Dennis at:  dhayes@premiercorp-usa.com.
